Mike Henry was an American Football player and actor. He played for the University of Southern California Trojans and then from 1959 - 1964 was a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers (59-61) and the Los Angeles Rams (62-64). After leaving the NFL he became a professional actor. He is remembered for playing Tarzan in three 1960s moviesTarzan and the Valley of Gold(1966),Tarzan and the Great River(1967), andTarzan and the Jungle Boy(1968). Released consecutively all three movies were filmed back-to-back in 1965. The dark haired, 6'2", 220 Lb Henry is still considered to be the closest physically to the classic illustrations of Tarzan. After Tarzan would appear in multiple movies to includeSmokey and the Banditin which he played Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason) son Junior Justice. He also played Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan (Loretta Swit) husband Colonel Donald Penobscott inM*A*S*H. He passed away January 8, 2021, at the age of eighty-four.
