René Auberjonois(1940-2019) was an American actor who was well known to television viewers for his roles as Odo inStar Trek: Deep Space Nine, Clayton Endicott III inBensonas well as Paul Lewiston onBoston Legal. In addition, he appeared in the role of the original Father Mulcahy in the film version ofM*A*S*H (1970)as well as in such films asThe PatriotandPolice Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach. He passed away on December 8, 2019 at the age of 79 due to complications from metastatic lung cancer. He was survived by his wife, Judith, and his two children, Remy and Tessa. N.B.Auberjonois's great-great grandfather was Joachim Murat, Marshal of France under Napoleon Bonaparte and one-time King of Naples. His mother, Laure Murat, was a titled Princess.
