Eric "Ricky" Nelson was an American actor and musician, the son of radio and television stars Ozzie and Harriet Nelson. He played himself on both the radio and television incarnations ofThe Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. After the end ofThe Adventures of Ozzie and Harrietin 1966, Ricky, now known as "Rick," focused on his music career, which he had began in the late 1950's, while still making appearances in movies and television. In 1985, while on tour, Ricky was killed alongside his fiancée and his band during a forced landing of his private plane. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
