Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Tikhonov(February 8, 1928 – December 4, 2009) was a Soviet and Russian actor. He started his cinema career in 1948. His best known roles are Prince Andrei Bolkonski inWar and Peace(1968) and Stierlitz inSeventeen Moments of Spring(1973). In 1974 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of USSR.
