David Charles Lawrence (12 February 1941 – 10 June 1995), better known as Bruno Lawrence, was an English-born New Zealander musician and actor. Born in West Sussex, England in 1941, his family moved to New Zealand in 1946 where he lived for the rest of his life. He worked extensively in both New Zealand and Australia, primarily playing drums in several bands throughout his career. As an actor, he played parts in both short films and major productions, as well as on television, with his most noted small screen role being Brian "Thommo" Thompson in the Australian satirical comedy seriesFrontline.
