Alain Delon

Alain Fabien Maurice Marcel Delon (8 November 1935 - 18 August 2024) was a French actor who achieved international stardom in the 1960s and 1970s. He is considered part of the French New Wave Film Era and was an international sex symbol for many years. It is not uncommon to find him in various lists of classic "cool" actors that includePaul Newman,Steve McQueen,Jean-Paul Belmondo, andMarlon Brando. He worked with such acclaimed film directors as Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Louis Malle. He served in the French Navy (1952-1956) as a radio operator. He was a veteran of the French-Indochina War and was present at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu (1954). He passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 88.
