He starred in more than 60 films during his screen career, and mostly as a leading man. Gable won the Academy Award for Best Actor forIt Happened One Night(1934) and was nominated for the roles as Fletcher Christian inMutiny on the Bounty(1935), and as Rhett Butler inGone with the Wind(1939).
