Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010) was a Canadian-American actor who came to be best known for his comedic roles, namely as the bumbling Lt. Frank Drebin inThe Naked Gunfilm series, which had been adapted from the television showPolice Squad!in addition to his role as Dr. Rumack in the 1980 feature filmAirplane!. Prior toAirplane!, Nielsen had been primarily known as a dramatic actor, appearing in such films asForbidden Planet,The Poseidon Adventure, andCreepshow. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 84.
